1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account registration: name, email address, mobile number, password, role (buyer, seller, or broker).
- Profile details: profile photo, address, city, state, and professional credentials (for brokers).
- Listings: property details, photographs, pricing, availability, and location data submitted when you post a listing.
- Transactions: billing address and payment-method details collected at the time of purchase (card numbers are not stored by us; they are handled by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment partner, Razorpay).
- Communications: messages you send through our platform, support queries, and survey responses.
- KYC documents: government-issued identity proof and address proof submitted for verification purposes.
- Lead and inquiry details: buyer requirements, property preferences, lead unlocks, responses, visit requests, and related activity history.
- Payment and plan records: selected plans, invoices, taxes, discounts, credits, refunds, payment status, gateway order IDs, and audit logs.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, search queries, click-stream data, and referral URLs.
- Device & technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and time-zone setting.
- Location data: approximate location derived from IP address or, with your consent, precise GPS location.

1.3 Information from Third Parties
If you sign in using Google or another social provider, we receive your public profile information (name, email, profile picture) from that provider in accordance with your permissions. We may also receive data from fraud-prevention partners and credit-reference agencies to verify identity.

- To administer subscriptions, paid plans, lead packages, listing boosts, credits, eligibility checks, renewals, limits, cancellations, refunds, and account restrictions.
- To protect RentingWaves, its users, partners, business operations, systems, legal claims, and contractual rights.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following grounds:
- Contract performance — to provide the services you have requested.
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
- Consent — for optional marketing communications and optional cookies.
- Legal obligation — where required by Indian law (e.g., tax records, KYC requirements).
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
- Other platform users: your name, contact number, and property details are shared with counterparties as needed to facilitate a transaction or inquiry.
- Service providers: cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing (Razorpay), SMS/email delivery (Twilio, SendGrid), analytics (Google Analytics), and fraud prevention partners — all bound by data processing agreements.
- Business and platform partners: verification, lead-management, analytics, customer support, hosting, security, marketing, communication, and professional service providers who help us run the Platform.
- Legal and regulatory authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where the acquiring entity agrees to honour this Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, maintain financial and audit records, and protect legitimate business interests. Transactional and tax records may be retained for 7 years or longer where required by law. KYC, safety, moderation, payment, dispute, and abuse-prevention records may be retained where reasonably necessary even after account closure. You may request deletion, but deletion may be limited where retention is required or permitted by law or legitimate business needs.
